The Center was involved in the pilot project for the quality checking system of laboratories carrying out asbestos analysis using Scanning Electron Microscopy, under the coordination of "Istituto Superiore di Sanità" as part of program of Minister of Health - Prevention Department (DM 14/05/96).   

The Center has proven the requirements of DM 14/05/96 both for analysis quality and time response. 

From January 2020, the Center is listed on Minister of Health as qualified laboratory of Abruzzo region to performe asbestos analysis in accordance to DM 14/05/96 as part of "Programma di qualificazione 2018-2019 dei Laboratori Amianto", both for SEM than Phase Contrast Optical Microscope (MOCF).
